Japanese Art of Origami - A Perfect Hobby for Kids
... absolutely no cutting or messy pasting required
All of us have been mesmerised at one time or the other w
ith the interesting and beautiful shapes that paper can be crafted into. Origami - The Japaneseis are of folding paper, is a fun and creative hobby using paper to create things.
You'll be pleased to know that Origami is also one of the most popular hobbies out there, and one which is also inexpensive. What makes origami even more appealing is the fact that it originated
almost 500 years ago in Japan or perhaps in China. Interestingly enough its birthplace remains a mystery although Japan his however credited with developing the art of origami. Even though it is believed that origami was originally a
pastime, today it has become a serious art.
Essentially, origami revolves around folding pieces of paper numerous times in order to create
models ranging from the simplest forms of airplane or flowers to highly detailed spaceships. The extent to which a person decides to take their hobby depends entirely on how enthusiastic they are; Be warned though, because while origami may start off as a hobby
, it can soon become an obsession, particularly once you become advanced enough to begin designing and developing your own works of art.
What many people don't realize is that those who choose origami as a hobby are in fact choosing something which has an almost limitless number of benefits, apart from the fact that they are unknowingly developing their skills and their level of concentration and creativity. Interestingly enough, people realized back in the 1800’s that origami for kids is a perfect hobby for young children because it not only teaches hand and eye coordination, but it also helps a child to develop a sense of concentration and learn to follow step-by-step instructions. Furthermore, it helps a child to develop their creative skills and it also helps the child to relax. Considering that even children are nowadays subjected to hectic lifestyles, origami provides a child with an opportunity to sit quietly and peacefully while making paper figures, and this in itself helps to establish a sense of balance in a child’s life. Of course, what makes it even better is the fact that when a child has finished making their project, they have a toy to play with which they’ve made themselves.
